We survived Atlas’s brilliant idea of putting important security cards in places no sane person would ever put them.

We’re safe now.

Nothing bad is going to happen.

For once, we can relax.

Maybe get something to eat.

Hey, there’s a Burger Town nearby!

Everything is going to be perfectly—

“There’s another zombie outbreak.”

WELCOME TO:

Apparently the apocalypse has a drive-thru now.

⚡ STEP 1 — RESTORE POWER

First things first:

TURN ON THE POWER.

Open your way through the map until you can reach the generator/power controls.

Activate them.

This brings the major systems around the map online.

You’ll now be able to access the equipment needed for proper setup.

⚡ POWER — ON.

Okay.

Next priority:

🦾 GET OUR ROBOT SUIT BACK.

Apparently we didn’t learn from Outbreak either.

🦾 STEP 2 — GET THE EXO SUIT

Make your way to the Exo Suit station.

Grab your suit.

You’ll regain your:

⬆️ Boost jump

↔️ Exo dodge

🏃 Enhanced movement

And access to the Exo upgrade perks around the map.

Remember our rule from Outbreak?

If the company responsible for the zombie disaster gives you experimental equipment, maybe don’t wear it.

Before seriously working on the Easter Egg, get yourself established.

Good priorities include:

And learn the map.

You’re going to be moving between areas like:

🍔 BURGER TOWN

🏥 VALUE VOLT

🐊 SEWERS

🏪 ATLAS / COMMERCIAL AREAS

and the various streets connecting everything.

Knowing the fastest routes matters because this map introduces something important:

🚁 SURVIVORS.

🚁 STEP 4 — UNDERSTAND SURVIVOR RESCUES

At certain points, you’ll be notified that a survivor has appeared.

You have a limited amount of time to locate that person and escort them to the extraction point.

Protect them.

If they make it:

🚁 SURVIVOR RESCUED.

If they die:

Well…

Burger Town’s customer count drops by one.

These rescue events are important to the map’s progression and rewards, so don’t automatically ignore them.

And they’re another reminder:

We were rescued after Outbreak.

Now we’re rescuing everybody else.

THIS RESCUE OPERATION HAS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER REVIEWS.

🐊 STEP 5 — ENTER THE SEWERS

Eventually you’ll need access to the sewer system.

And this is where Infection decides that zombies weren’t enough.

Because there’s something living down there.

🐊 A GIANT MUTATED ALLIGATOR.

…

Of course there is.

Why wouldn’t there be?

🐊 NEW SURVIVAL RULE:

IF THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE HAS REACHED THE SEWERS…

DO NOT CHECK WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ALLIGATORS.

Objective: Enter the sewers.

FOR THE LOVE OF—

🐊 STEP 6 — MEET BUBBLES

Yes.

The giant alligator has a name.

🐊 BUBBLES.

And Bubbles is involved with the Easter Egg.

At specific points, you’ll need to interact with the sewer/alligator mechanics to progress.

So don’t just treat the giant mutant reptile as background decoration.

Because eventually—

WE NEED HIM.

Me: We need the zombie alligator?

Game: Correct.

Me: Can we go back to the God-King?

🍔 STEP 7 — START THE BURGER TOWN EASTER EGG

Now we’re getting into the actual Meat Is Murder quest.

Burger Town contains several important Easter Egg interactions.

You’ll eventually be working with:

🥩 MEAT

because apparently the name Meat Is Murder wasn’t metaphorical enough.

The goal of this section is to prepare the special meat needed for the later sewer/alligator interaction.

So we’re basically making:

🍔 THE WORST HAPPY MEAL IN HUMAN HISTORY.

🥩 STEP 8 — OBTAIN THE MEAT

Locate the quest meat associated with Burger Town.

Once you’ve obtained it, don’t immediately assume it’s finished.

The meat needs to be prepared through the map’s quest sequence.

Keep it safe and continue working through the Burger Town interactions.

🥩 RAW MEAT ACQUIRED.

Burger Town employee: “Would you like fries with that?”

NO.

🔥 STEP 9 — PREPARE THE MEAT

The meat must be processed/cooked as part of the Easter Egg.

Follow the Burger Town equipment interactions until you’ve properly prepared the quest item.

You’ll know when you’ve successfully progressed because the meat changes into the version required for the next step.

Fantastic.

We’re cooking during a zombie apocalypse.

CALL OF DUTY: CULINARY SCHOOL EDITION.

We’ve done:

Chemistry.

Astronomy.

Morse code.

Electrical engineering.

And now:

🍳 FOOD PREPARATION.

🐊 STEP 10 — FEED BUBBLES

Take your prepared quest meat into the sewer area.

Remember our giant friend?

🐊 BUBBLES.

Use the meat for the required interaction with him.

Bubbles will react and progress the Easter Egg.

And yes:

WE JUST FED QUEST MEAT TO A MUTANT ALLIGATOR.

Nothing about that sentence should be normal.

🐊 STEP 11 — GET THE QUEST ITEM FROM BUBBLES

After completing the correct feeding sequence, Bubbles provides access to the next quest item.

Retrieve it.

This item becomes important for the later Burger Town sequence.

So let’s review.

We:

  1. Found meat.
  2. Prepared meat.
  3. Fed meat to giant alligator.
  4. Got something back.

I’M NOT EATING AT BURGER TOWN EVER AGAIN.

🍔 STEP 12 — RETURN TO BURGER TOWN

Bring your newly obtained quest item back toward Burger Town.

Now you’ll use it to continue the Easter Egg interactions involving the restaurant and its equipment.

Pay attention to the quest objects around the kitchen/service area.

Complete the required placement/interactions.

The quest will eventually lead you toward another particularly strange objective.

Because apparently mutant-alligator cooking wasn’t weird enough.

🧟 STEP 13 — INFECTED ROUNDS

At various points during Infection, the map can throw:

☣️ INFECTED ROUNDS

at you.

These are extremely important to understand.

If you’re infected:

GET TO DECONTAMINATION.

You have limited time.

Do NOT think:

“I’ll finish this Easter Egg step first.”

No.

You won’t.

Because you’ll be dead.

☣️ INFECTION WARNING =

DROP EVERYTHING AND GET CLEAN.

Then return to the quest.

🧼 STEP 14 — REMEMBER DECONTAMINATION

Know where the decontamination station is before you need it.

Because when that timer appears:

PANIC MODE ACTIVATED.

Run there.

Clean yourself.

Continue.

This is basically the Exo Zombies equivalent of remembering where the bathroom is before eating at a questionable restaurant.

Considering we’re at Burger Town…

THAT COMPARISON IS BECOMING TOO REAL.

🛰️ STEP 15 — ATLAS STARTS GETTING INVOLVED

As you progress, Atlas becomes increasingly relevant to what’s happening.

Because naturally the corporation connected to the original disaster isn’t going to say:

“Wow. We really messed up. Let’s stop.”

No.

They’re Atlas.

Their solution is basically:

“WHAT IF WE MADE THE SITUATION WORSE?”

🧪 STRAUB RULE: Stop experimenting.

🏢 ATLAS: “We don’t know who Straub is.”

🧪 RULEBOOK: Doesn’t matter. It applies to you now.

💣 STEP 16 — PREPARE FOR THE LATER QUEST SEQUENCE

Before advancing too far, make sure you’re equipped.

You want:

❤️ Exo Health

🔫 Upgraded weapons

🦾 Functional Exo Suit

💰 Credits

🧼 Knowledge of decontamination

You also want enough firepower to handle special enemies while still completing environmental interactions.

Because the quest is about to stop being:

🍔 SILLY BURGER ADVENTURE

and start becoming:

🚨 OH NO.

🧟 STEP 17 — COMPLETE THE BURGER TOWN SEQUENCE

Continue the Burger Town interactions using the quest items you’ve collected.

You’ll be working toward activating/completing the map’s major Easter Egg mechanism.

Follow the required interactions around the restaurant.

Once correctly completed:

🍔 BURGER TOWN QUEST PROGRESSES.

And now we’re approaching the final stages of:

MEAT IS MURDER.

🚨 STEP 18 — GET READY BEFORE THE FINALE

🚨 STOP HERE.

Before committing to the ending sequence, make sure you’re comfortable with your equipment.

Check:

❤️ Health

🔫 Weapon upgrades

🦾 Exo Suit

💥 Ammo

🧼 Decontamination route

Because once things start going wrong—

and let’s remember how this guide started—

“Um… sir?”

“Something went wrong.”

We’re about to find out just how wrong.

🚁 STEP 19 — ATLAS ARRIVES

Atlas forces enter the situation.

At first you might think:

GREAT!

Help!

Rescue!

Actual trained soldiers!

Finally somebody competent has arrived!

…

Wait.

Why are they pointing their weapons at—

OH NO.

🔥 STEP 20 — SURVIVE THE FINAL SEQUENCE

Fight through the final encounter.

Use everything you’ve learned throughout Infection:

🦾 Exo movement

🔫 Upgraded weapons

❤️ Exo Health

🧼 Decontamination when needed

🏃 Constant movement

Don’t let the special enemies trap you.

Keep fighting until you’ve completed the final objective.

Eventually:

🏆 MEAT IS MURDER — COMPLETE.

But then we get the ending.

And…

THINGS GET WORSE.

Because of course they do.
