⚡ STEP 1 — TURN ON THE POWER

First priority:

⚡ POWER.

Open your way through Trident Retreat and activate the facility’s power systems.

You’ll need access to the map’s technology for basically everything we’re about to do.

Once it’s active:

⚡ POWER — ONLINE.

Atlas computer: Welcome to Trident Retreat.

Us: Thanks.

Atlas computer: Please enjoy your stay.

Us: We won’t.

🦾 STEP 2 — GET AN EXO SUIT

Find the Exo Suit station.

Equip one.

Once again:

🦾 EXO RULE

Don’t attach experimental Atlas technology to yourself.

Us: equips experimental Atlas technology

Rulebook:

I’M DONE.

You’ll need your Exo movement throughout Descent, especially during later encounters.

❤️ STEP 3 — BUILD YOUR LOADOUT

Before starting the deeper Easter Egg steps, establish yourself.

Prioritize:

❤️ Exo Health

🦾 Exo Suit

🔫 Strong weapons

🔧 Weapon upgrades

💰 Credits

And learn the facility.

Descent has multiple levels and transport routes, so getting lost while holding a zombie at the end of a round is not ideal.

🌀 STEP 4 — LEARN THE GALLERIA / TRANSPORT SYSTEM

Trident Retreat is vertically structured.

You’ll use the map’s transportation systems to move between levels.

Learn where they lead before the later quest steps.

Because eventually the game is going to say:

“Go here immediately.”

And you don’t want your response to be:

“WHERE THE HELL IS HERE?”

🔫 STEP 5 — GET THE TRIDENT

Descent’s signature Wonder Weapon is:

🔱 THE TRIDENT.

It’s an extremely useful weapon and absolutely worth obtaining before the later stages.

The Trident fires powerful energy projectiles and can make crowd control considerably easier.

If you obtain one:

KEEP IT.

You’re heading toward a boss fight.

This is not the map to say:

“Eh, I’ll use this pistol instead.”

🔧 STEP 6 — UPGRADE YOUR EQUIPMENT

Use the map’s weapon-upgrade system to increase the Mark level of your weapons.

Unlike traditional Pack-a-Punch, Advanced Warfare lets you repeatedly upgrade weapons through multiple Mark levels.

The later rounds of Descent can get rough.

So:

DON’T SHOW UP TO THE FINAL BOSS WITH A PEA SHOOTER.

Get prepared early.

🧠 STEP 7 — BEGIN THE REUNION QUEST

Now we start working toward:

🏆 REUNION.

You’ll begin interacting with the facility and following the quest’s story-related objectives.

And gradually you’ll realize something.

Someone is controlling what’s happening.

Someone knows we’re here.

Someone wants us to continue deeper into Trident Retreat.

And that someone is—

OZ.

…

Us: Aren’t you supposed to be dead?

Oz: It’s complicated.

OF COURSE IT IS.

🩸 STEP 8 — FOLLOW OZ’S CHALLENGES

Oz begins forcing the crew through a series of challenges.

Pay attention to his dialogue and the environmental cues.

The Easter Egg becomes progressively less about simply surviving zombies and more about:

DOING EXACTLY WHAT OZ WANTS.

Which seems like a terrible idea.

🔍 INVESTIGATE RULE:

If the suspicious undead man says:

“Come find me.”

DON’T.

Objective: Find Oz.

…

HERE WE GO AGAIN.

🧩 STEP 9 — COMPLETE THE MAP’S CHALLENGE SEQUENCES

Descent uses several challenge-style objectives as part of the progression.

These test different parts of Exo Zombies gameplay.

Expect:

🧟 Combat

🦾 Exo movement

🎯 Accuracy

🏃 Survival

and environmental interactions.

Complete each challenge as the quest advances.

And don’t rush rounds unnecessarily while you’re trying to work out an objective.

⚡ STEP 10 — EMP ZOMBIES ARE STILL HERE

Because apparently Atlas refused to discontinue the world’s most annoying zombie.

⚡ EMP ZOMBIES.

If they hit you:

🦾 EXO OFFLINE.

Your beautiful double jump?

Gone.

Your dodge?

Gone.

Your dignity?

Already gone several maps ago.

Deal with EMP zombies quickly, especially during movement-heavy objectives.

🌀 STEP 11 — WATCH THE FACILITY

As Reunion progresses, Trident Retreat itself begins changing around you.

Pay attention to:

Screens

Doors

Interactive systems

Oz’s dialogue

and any newly accessible areas.

The story is leading you deeper into the facility.

And every time we’ve gone deeper into a suspicious facility…

things have gone wonderfully.

Right?

NO.

🧬 STEP 12 — OZ’S EXPERIMENT

Eventually the truth becomes clearer.

Oz isn’t exactly the same man we knew during Outbreak.

The infection and Atlas experiments have changed him.

And now we’re dealing with something considerably more dangerous than an ordinary infected survivor.

🧪 EXPERIMENT RULE:

STOP EXPERIMENTING ON PEOPLE.

Atlas:

“But what if—”

NO.

Straub would be proud of you people.

And that’s not a compliment.

🚨 STEP 13 — PREPARE FOR THE ENDGAME

As you approach the later quest stages:

STOP.

Make sure you’re equipped.

You want:

❤️ Exo Health

🦾 Exo Suit

🔫 High-Mark weapons

🔱 Trident if available

💥 Full ammunition

💰 Enough credits to recover if necessary

The quest eventually sends you into the final confrontation.

Once you’re committed:

YOU’RE FIGHTING OZ.

🚨━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━🚨

⚠️ BOSS-FIGHT CHECKPOINT

🚨━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━🚨

This is the Exo Zombies finale.

Get ready.

Reload.

Upgrade.

Buy whatever you need.

Tell the Survival Rulebook you’re sorry for ignoring literally everything it has ever told us.

Then proceed.

👹 STEP 14 — ENTER OZ’S BOSS FIGHT

Follow the final quest progression into Oz’s arena.

The encounter begins.

And…

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO OZ?!

This is no longer:

Oz, slightly infected.

This is:

👹 OZ, FINAL-BOSS EDITION.

Now we fight.

👹 PHASE 1 — LEARN OZ’S ATTACKS

At first, focus on understanding how Oz moves and attacks.

Keep moving.

Use your Exo dodge.

Use boost jumps when appropriate.

Don’t let yourself get trapped against the arena edges.

Oz can pressure you while additional threats make staying still extremely dangerous.

RULE #1:

MOVEMENT IS LIFE.

Fortunately, we’re wearing Exo Suits.

Finally!

The questionable experimental technology is helping!

🦾 EXO RULE HAS FAILED SUCCESSFULLY.

🔫 PHASE 2 — DAMAGE OZ

When Oz becomes vulnerable:

OPEN FIRE.

Use your strongest upgraded weapons.

If you have the Trident, use its crowd-control capabilities to keep the arena manageable while continuing to pressure the boss.

Don’t waste ammunition firing blindly when Oz isn’t in a useful damage state.

Survive.

Wait for your opportunity.

Then:

HIT HIM HARD.

🧟 PHASE 3 — ADDITIONAL ENEMIES

Naturally, Oz isn’t fighting alone.

Because bosses in Zombies apparently have union rules requiring backup.

Deal with additional enemies quickly.

Prioritize anything that threatens your mobility.

Especially:

⚡ EMP THREATS.

Losing your Exo during this fight can turn:

“I’ve got this.”

into:

“I DO NOT GOT THIS.”

very quickly.

🦾 PHASE 4 — KEEP MOVING

As the fight intensifies, your Exo movement becomes increasingly important.

Don’t repeatedly back yourself into the same corner.

Use the arena.

Keep track of Oz.

Clear zombies when necessary.

Reload during safe windows.

And remember:

SURVIVING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SQUEEZING OUT THREE EXTRA BULLETS OF DAMAGE.

You can’t DPS anything when you’re dead.

👹 PHASE 5 — FINISH OZ

Eventually you’ll reach the final portion of the encounter.

Oz becomes vulnerable again.

Unload everything you’ve got.

Upgraded weapons.

Trident.

Whatever ammunition remains.

Keep pressure on him until—

💥 OZ GOES DOWN.

👹 OZ DEFEATED.

And that completes:

🏆 REUNION.
